Celebrating Cornwall’s Legal Community at the Cornwall Law Society Awards 2026

What a fantastic evening.

We were incredibly proud to represent Octo Financial Planning as a sponsor of the Cornwall Law Society Annual Awards 2026, held in the spectacular surroundings of Truro Cathedral.

The evening brought together legal professionals, businesses and supporters from across Cornwall to recognise the talent, dedication and achievements of those working within our county's legal profession.

For us at Octo, being involved was about much more than simply sponsoring an event. We are passionate about supporting the professional community here in Cornwall and building strong relationships with the solicitors, accountants and other professionals who work every day to support local individuals, families and businesses.

Celebrating Cornwall's Legal Talent

One of the things that really stood out from the evening was the depth of talent we have here in Cornwall.

The awards provided an opportunity to recognise individuals and firms making a real contribution to the legal profession, and it was fantastic to see so many people from across the county come together to celebrate their achievements.

Congratulations to every winner, highly commended recipient, finalist and nominee. Being recognised by your peers is an achievement in itself, and the standard across the evening was a brilliant reflection of the strength of Cornwall's legal community.

Proud to Sponsor the Support Member of the Year Award

Octo Financial Planning was particularly proud to sponsor the Support Member of the Year award.

The award was won by Kim Rose of Paddle & Cocks LLP Solicitors, and it was a real pleasure for Benjamin Grimsey and David Medland of Octo Financial Planning to be involved in recognising her achievement.

Behind every successful professional organisation are people whose contribution, commitment and hard work keep everything moving. Recognising those individuals is hugely important, and we were delighted to play a small part in doing exactly that.

Supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance

There was also a much bigger purpose behind the evening.

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust was chosen as Cornwall Law Society's charity for 2026, supporting the charity's lifesaving work across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The generosity in the room was incredible.

Together, the evening raised an amazing amount for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

For a charity that relies on public generosity to continue providing critical care, it was fantastic to see Cornwall's professional community getting behind such an important local cause.

We also heard about the reality of the work carried out by the charity and its clinical teams, providing a powerful reminder of exactly why supporting organisations such as Cornwall Air Ambulance matters so much.

Proud to Be Part of Cornwall's Professional Community

At Octo Financial Planning, we're proud to work alongside other professionals throughout the county.

Financial planning doesn't exist in isolation.

Many of the people we advise will also need the expertise of a solicitor or accountant at different stages of their lives. Equally, legal and accountancy clients will often reach a point where they need regulated financial planning, pension, investment or mortgage advice.

We believe clients get the best outcomes when good professionals know each other, communicate and are prepared to work together.

Events such as the Cornwall Law Society Awards aren't therefore just a fantastic night out. They're an opportunity to strengthen the relationships within Cornwall's professional community, celebrate the people doing brilliant work locally and support organisations that make Cornwall a better place to live and work.

That's something we're extremely proud to support.

And, of course, a huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

It was a brilliant celebration of Cornwall's legal community, in an incredible venue, supporting an exceptional Cornish charity.
